Baltimore Ravens – Under 8.5 (-110)

It’s going to be a tough year for the Ravens. QB Lamar Jackson was a nice story last year, but the Chargers showed in the Wild Card Game that if you can contain him in the pocket and force him to throw he is ineffective. The team drafted wide receivers Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin but still have the worst receiver group in the league. Defense has been Baltimore’s calling card for years but this offseason it lost the franchise’s all-time sacks leader in Terrell Suggs, their leading tackler, CJ Mosley, six-time Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle and last year’s team sacks leader ZaDarius Smith. Schedule is tough and includes KC, Seattle, Patriots, Texans and Rams, as well as their division games with the Steelers and improved Browns. Can’t see this team winning more than seven games.

CHICAGO BEARS – Under 9.5 (-110)

We cashed with the over on the Bears last year, but we are going under in 2019. Everything went right for Chicago last year until the “double doink” field goal cost them a playoff game. The Bears’ schedule in 2018 was loaded with cupcakes. They picked up wins against the Bills, Jets, 49ers, Cardinals and Buccaneers. In addition, normally tough division outs, Green Bay and Detroit, were awful. This season, the schedule is tough with games against the Saints, Chargers, Rams, Cowboys and Chiefs. The Vikings and Packers should win their home games with Chicago and they could easily lose to the Broncos and Eagles. The Bears lost defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who built this defense over the last 4 years and is now the Head Coach of the Broncos. Chicago is a .500 team in 2019!

NEW ENGLAND – Over 11 (-140)

Sure, Gronk is gone, but the Patriots still have the best QB and head coach combo in the league, as well as a ton of returning talent. Playing in the AFC East almost guarantees six wins and this year they play the NFC East which will give them wins over Washington and the Giants. The Pats have one of the easiest schedules in the league and will be favored in every game this season, except for when they travel to Philly. This is a team that has won 11 or more games every year since 2009 and will do it again in 2019.

HOUSTON TEXANS — Under 8.5 (-130)

The Texans go from playing one of the easiest schedules in the NFL last year (when they went 11-5 with six wins by one score or less) to one of the most difficult in 2019. They are slated to be favored in just eight games and none of them will be by more than seven points. The biggest weakness last year was a horrid offensive line and the team did nothing to address it during the offseason. It’s a shame that a young and talented QB like Deshaun Watson will be running for his life again and likely end up getting hurt again. Could be a disastrous year in Houston.
